Bergen, Norway

Monday, September 1st

I spent a long time researching how to spend our time in Bergen.  Since we will be stopping here on both cruises, we decided today we would go up a mountain if the weather cooperates!  Then I had to decide which mountain...Mt. Floyan via the Floibanen Funicular or Mt. Ulriken via cable car.  As with all decisions regarding Norway, I asked Lars Myren for his opinion.  He answered that Mt. Ulriken offers the most spectacular view.  That made our decision easy.

The Ulriken643 Panorama Tour takes you by cable car up into the mountains near the city centre.

From the viewing platform, you have uninterrupted panoramic views of Bergen and the sea, fjords and mountains that surround the city.

The day was cloudy but at least no rain.  Temperature was in the low 60s.  Really better than expected.

The view really lived up to expectations!
The Solstice looked pretty small from the top of Mt. Ulriken.

Roger, Cheryl, John, Corinne, Charlie and me.......

Hold on to your hat!

We checked out the Old Town a little.  We will be back here next week on the Ruby Princess so we will check it out further....
Famous Fish Market.....Charlie just doesn't appreciate good food!

Then it was back to the ship to rest up for Flam tomorrow...hope the rain holds off....Good trip so far....
